Nico Technology Inc. was founded in Singapore in 1985 as Targa Electronic Services Over the years, Targa Electronic Services became a leader in providing automation systems for boardroom conferencing and museums. Targa Electronic Services created an intuitive human interface to easily control HVAC, lighting, and multimedia systems.

In 1992, Targa expanded and began providing intelligent home system. The home automation market included Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Taiwan.

After many years of successful testing, Targa Technology Inc. adopted the LonWorks Communication Standard for its design in 1995. LonWorks continues to be at the foundation of Nico's product line.

In 1999, Targa Electronic Services changed their name to Nico Technology. Nico stands for Network Integration Control Organization. Nico opened an office in Taipei and acquired a manufacturing plant in Taiwan for product assembly.

Based on years of practical experience and the LonWork System, Nico Technology Inc. has developed a series of products that create a more automatic, sensitive and smarter Control System for human's life.

In 1999, Nico Technology Inc. established its headquarter and Research and Development Team in Taiwan, LonWorks has been the researching core of Nico Technology over years with the fully effort, and produces varieties of automation systems in LonWorks base since then.

Moreover, as a result of the successful designs in LonWorks at professional automation field, Nico Technology is a member of LonMark and also one member of LID (LonMark Independent Developer.) LID is that Echelon has trained a select group of companies that act as consultants, R&D, software and hardware-engineering resources for potential LonWorks develop firms.

Good news of extending Nico service in international market, in 2003, Nico Technology Inc. set up its first branch Nico Technology (Shanghai) Ltd. in Shanghai, China, which aims to a more efficient and complete service for Great China area.
